Brazil

When you think about Brazil, or Brasil, a lot will probably come to mind. From football to carnival, from wildlife to samba, the country has a lot to offer. The big eye-catcher is Rio de Janeiro, one of the most famous cities in the world. On the other side of the country you can find the biggest rainforest in the world, the Amazon. The inland has a lot of wildlife, farms and cities, but it also has a great coastline with many fantastic beaches.

The country is so big, as it is number five in the world, so there are many things to do, and you cannot cover everything. The country has around 213 million inhabitants, and the capital is Brasilia, which is a very new city. The city has almost 3 million inhabitants, but that is fewer than Rio de Janeiro (6.5 million) and São Paulo (12 million).

You can travel for over a year without seeing everything, so you probably have to make decisions. Are you going for the cities like Salvador, the rainforest of the Amazon, the wildlife in the Pantanal or the beaches of Fernando de Noronha? Brazil has all of it, and you can make the decisions. The people are vibrant and are very cool to meet.

I travelled here in 2017, and I saw a couple of very cool places but also missed a lot of them. I was there with my sister and my parents, and we had an organised trip. We saw some absolute highlights but could never see everything in three weeks. This country should be visited a lot.
