Germany is one of most powerful countries in Europe and has gotten a much better reputation after the World Wars. Now the country is famous of efficiency, sausages, Oktoberfest, and decency. It is a country with many good cities to discover, great nature and interesting culture. 

From European perspective Germany is a pretty big country with the mighty capital Berlin. The country has around 83 million inhabitants and those people are often non religious or christian, but a lot of religions are represented in the country.

The easiest way to travel the country is by the perfect arranged public transport, but the roads are very good as well, and you can drive as fast as you want on some of the highways. Flying between cities in Germany is absolutely not necessary.

As it is a neighboring country of The Netherlands I have been several times in Germany, but I never made a round trip. So there are a lot of impressive sights in the country I have never seen. I mostly went to Germany by public transport or car and that is the right decision in my opinion.
